We all love the variety of foods we get during the holidays, and your baby will too! Here are some easy recipes using the food from your table:
Turkey
– Puree 1/2 cup of cooked white meat turkey with 1/4 cup of cranberry juice or gravy. Add additional liquid or meat to reach desired consistency.
Stuffing
– Blend fully-cooked stuffing with a little gravy or water to thin. Baby will enjoy gumming the soft, tasty bread.
Sweet Potatoes
– Before adding sweeteners, remove a few tablespoons of cooked sweet potatoes and mash with milk.
Cranberry Sauce
– Baby can eat the jellied type or put a little of the whole berry version in the blender for a few seconds.
Pie-less Pumpkin
– Cut a baby pumpkin in half vertically and remove all seeds. Place cut-side down in a casserole dish with about an inch of water. Microwave on high for five minutes or until pumpkin is soft. Scoop the meat into a bowl, and add a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. Mash it all together with a fork, adding breast milk or formula to thin. Serve when cool.
