Brain Builders
Stimulating Activities for Your 7-month-old Baby
By Tammy Morey
This is also a great age to begin introducing your baby to a foreign language. If you or someone in your household speaks another language, try to speak it to him daily. While it may seem like he may not benefit, in actuality, he will be learning the sounds and patterns of the different dialect. This will lay the foundation for him to recall the information later when he begins to speak. His brain works like a CD the tracks are being laid for speech patterns and language acquisition every day.
Just as important is introducing Baby to other children and parents. This is a very special period for babies. They are very social, and allowing him to be around other babies accomplishes several important developmental skills: socialization and learning from other babies. For you, it will be a wonderful opportunity to develop long-lasting friendships with other parents who are going through the same joys, issues and concerns of parenting.
