I Wish Someone Had Told Me...
Pregnancy Advice
By iParenting Staff
Sex? Sleep? Those are things that I used to have before I became a mum. Now I have stretch marks, saggy boobs, bags under my eyes and a house full of baby poop, drool and vomit. Oh, and I also have the most wonderful, beautiful baby who lights up my world!! I look at DH differently these days because he is a wonderful daddy!! I would not trade my life for anything!! :)
Everyone gives the same advice -- while laughing, remembering their own failure in this regard -- "sleep when your baby sleeps." Yeah, right. Well, it's TRUE. But the best advice came to me shortly after my daughter was born: no one is allowed to come over to see the baby unless they 1) bring food, 2) do housework, or 3) provide some other necessary service (mow the lawn, run to the store for more supplies, etc.). Everyone must follow this rule, whether they are related or not!!
I wish someone had told me that my whole life was about to change and not to fear it or fight it because it was a change for the better!
