An Attraction to Fall For

On Dry Land

When you need a break from all that water, a walk along Clifton Hill can add some excitement. Clifton Hill is the touristy section of Niagara Falls, where you'll find the haunted houses, Guinness and Ripley's Believe It or Not Museums, wax museums, gift shops, restaurants, an arcade and other attractions. Clifton Hill is also one of the pathways between the hotels and the Falls (Murray Street is the other). No matter what time of day or night you walk down Clifton Hills, expect it to be crowded. This is the street most popular with teens and preteenagers.

Off of Murray Street is the Skylon Tower with a revolving dining room and every dinner guest guaranteed a view of the Falls during their meal, and the IMAX theater.

Dining Out, Falls Style

Niagara Falls is home to any number of chain restaurants, but there are also a number of locally owned establishments to visit. The Niagara Parks Service has a restaurant that overlooks the Falls. Kelsey's on Clifton Hill and Victoria Avenue is a very popular restaurant and nightspot.

The restaurant we always make sure to visit is the Suisha Gardens, a Japanese Steakhouse on Lewis Avenue. It is a few blocks away from the bustle of Clifton Hill, but well worth the walk (or drive). The food and service are excellent. For $25, I got a salad, soup, appetizer, main dish, vegetables, bean sprouts, rice and ice cream for dessert. Our friend is allergic to shellfish. The chef, who cooks at the table, did a good job separating her food from the shellfish the rest of us were having. A trip to Niagara Falls wouldn't be complete without the Suisha Gardens.
